Soft Sea

Dark are the waters of the North Atlantic
Mystery beneath its green skin
Sleeping forever on the floor of St. Margaret’s Bay
Sea creatures feel your warm heart
Fascinated by your beauty they admire each gentle gesture you make
Remembering when you glided above them so gracefully
They will drape a seaweed quilt over your astral body
Feeding you the sweetest tastes from the Arctic
Dramatic sunsets and sunrises will entertain you
Painting great stories of love and passion with your favourite colours
When I enter those waters each summer
I will take care not to disturb you
And feel your presence in each salty drop

Family Guard

Squirrels ravage your womb
They tried to kill you by slicing you open
But only jewels spilled out
Distracting the weak minded
Your arms use to reach so high
Now the hang low as you a have seen it all
There is no one in the sky to reach for
A world created centuries ago and then abandoned because of its horror
Spinning into the dark empty universe alone
We delude ourselves with ridiculous old fables
They seldom apply to our modern strife
Hope of a journey to a place that doesn’t exist
Wary of a fictional place bred our of fear
The jealous sky struck you with lightening
In death your power grows
No longer a home for any creature
Your body is bare for all seasons
Silently you stand tall and still
Sending your gentle message directly to my heart
