That Sacred Place

She’s the girl at the piano
And she’ll find her way
In this turbulent world
She’ll get there one day

Just spend a lifetime sitting there
Among those keys without a fear
A harmony in black and white
No harm, no hatred, nor need to fight

The noise outside will offend
And cruel souls may still pretend
But she is made of stronger things
Through sorrow, sharp, she still sings

She’s the girl at the piano
And she’ll find her way
In this turbulent world
She’ll get there one day

Finding peace between piano keys
Don’t let the world in if you please
Here’s a smile that shall always glow
The soft serenity she’ll know

Joy in those sacred melodies
Need not lead to tearful tragedies
A spirit waiting for its time
No limit to how high she’ll climb

She’s the girl at the piano
And she’ll find her way
In this turbulent world
She’ll get there one day,
             get there one day.
