Inside Voices

voices screaming implicitly:
the world is hard;
that we are mirrors
of
                   our landscape.

a background of bodies
imitating motions
of inanimate spirits:
the recitation of inner spaces
lost in between traces
of breathing
of teeth
         sentimental vibrations.

although
fake they seem
their laughter annihilates
this acuity
and i am left to wonder
the meaning
of why it is just
                            me.

i’m so good at hiding
faces now––
guess which one i’m wearing:
living framed inside
this poisoned painting
of life
of nuclear winter
      imagination gone bitter.

eye of the blackbird

the scent of dead leaves;
tombstones stare vacant faces;
the chill manifests air.

crows pose in still silver light;
crystalline stars kiss twilight;
shrouds of mist stain the night.

a blackbird perches itself
upon a branch in gloom;
its eye beholding all,
eclipsing the moon
