on My Father’s Wedding Day

Apparently autumn is the time for reflection.
Apparent in the eyes of lovers
Is the reflection of love.
Where better find spring before winter
In the constant renewal
Of our loves of today.
The seasons may dance
Freely juxtaposed if they like
Winter’s snow laden boughs
Like summer’s thunder drenched leaves.
Or spring’s overflowing streams
Carrying autumn’s lost leaves.
That obscure any reflection
And leave only a moving tapestry
That appears to be love.
