Snowflake

He comes in the darkest of night
Or at the brightest of day,
He is like no other;
Utterly Unique.

It appears alone
Gliding softly to the ground
Soon joined by thousands,
Repeating his journey.

All waiting for their chance
To blanket the earth
If only for a short time
Before softly fading away.

They are part of nature’s beauty,
Coating all that they touch
Glistening under the hot sun
Or swirling in a cold breeze;

You used to catch them,
Let them melt on your tongue
Trying to catch just one;
The perfect snowflake.
