Acceptance
To the Voice of Eternity
I spoke these words:
“Give me what I ask
Or I will stop believing in you.”
A thousand times
“give
Me
what
I
ask
or
I
will stop
Believing
in you.”
The gall of a child
Not yet a double digit old
(My world is Your’s
the Meverse, All)
The famine of miracles
fuel for her fight against
an ill-fitting Truth
to whom Me became Blasphemy
and Mine became Wrong
the Burning Times continued
on the inside
As I grew up I found my Truth
In Moon and Sun
In Freeze and Thaw
In Starlight
In Visions behind the Skies and the Eyes
And the Unanimity
of All and One
My mother found my books
She went on to leave for me
hints and pokes,
one for each here and there
A knowledge that she knew
Still, she held the question years
before flooding it to the surface.
She:
“Are you?”
And I respond:
“I am.”
Unquiet silence
Broken by a nod,
perhaps of benign resignation
She smiled and gave me a pat on the shoulder
“Just Don’t Tell Your Grandparents.”
