Our Children

There is such silence
As I have never heard before,
Where I strain my ears
To hear the echo of a war -

A war not over,
But just beginning to appear
Across the faces
Of children, wearing killer’s gear.

Children unnurtured,
Not taught the realities of hate -
Or that punishments
No matter how severe, are bait

To the thirsty tongued
Wide eyed, unsteady, wasted one
Who can’t see real faces
From behind the shield of a gun

Can’t hear the silence
Of a pacified inner core.
Now can only hear
The echo of a coming war.

Beautiful Naked Woman

He holds her down.
He covers her face with his
Large sweaty hands
He moves    and moves
And moves.

This is how she is made love to
While he stares at a picture of
The Beautiful Naked Woman,
While she wishes she
Was the Beautiful Naked Woman
Not the one he holds down
Whose face is covered by his hands
Who feels every piece of him
Inside of her
But the Beautiful Naked Woman -
The woman no man can touch
The woman who makes men touch
Themselves.
