Leaving God

Irises the colour of bruises
Splatter the field where you walk

Our Father thundered:
You are mine. Do not be tempted
by that other man    or
you will burn   like him.

Arms of the crescent moon
encircle you   sailing
beyond adamantine heaven to the verge and
vortex of four winds — a woman’s face.

The neighbour’s dog
chain dangling
runs to greet you
He shoves his face between your legs
He smells blood
He knows what you are.

Addiction

On channel three
the burning Bush
proposes another erection
His minister advised:
“You can do anything. It’s a gameshow.”

Mother watched another station
“Void la probleme”  she says
“Taus les jeunes sont sur la dope.”

Stoned on channel six
Sitcom crack
Mindfeed
Endlessly lighting the night.
