Television Turn-Offs

Mellow yellow butter it
you can’t always get what you
want outside levis
on plasticine raisins
of all things to do
on a hard day’s night but drink
budweisers and munch crispy crunch
bars to a trogg’s tune
in tune out
to television man michael madonna
mania - music for the masses and then some
say that Bowie sold out for coffee
hold on tight to your dreams
hold on tight while your
jumping over some oh-so-clean laundry
launder the television, the media
everything cause its so dirty
dirty diana why don’t you go
part all night long for pepsi.

Life Classes

University:
First year English class
where my prof
handed out orgasms like
after dinner mints.
Everyone has them
had them he said
literary figures of all sorts
Shakespeare’s lago with
his spiritual sensual
pumping up to perform evil.
Camus’ remorseless murderer
ignores a dead mother
for sex in the sun.
Hemingway’s males
drippng sweat and machismo
do the manly be strong thing:
all stoics stealing
between the lines climaxes.
This was all quite shocking
to a smalltown stupid girl
who thought sex was for
trash mags and b-liners.
She had much to learn.
