Hieroglyphics of the Moment

Touch the sky
With your long antennae
With a soft, moist tongue
With your groin
Put your hands on a cloud
The moist sheen of cool vapour
And moonlight on your upturned face

Touch the sky
Eyes glow in the surge of light
Ocean stars in inky night
Moon a tide of ocean light
Violet clouds light the night
Your tongue, your touch
Your long antennae

Touch the sky
Not just a finger
A free spirit
A child can touch
What no five-cent rocket
Will ever reach...
And I live for the day

[I ignore the laws]

I ignore the laws
I let off a bomb
I am without affect, watching
I don’t move, I don’t move
I don’t move, I don’t move
I don’t remember the point
As the shrapnel flies

He gave me a picture
Of a ballot ticket aflame
Igniting our thin borders
A picture moved me
A picture scared me
There’s an explosion
Slow enough to watch
